ISEC empowers farmers to produce both cash and food crops to alleviate poverty and fight against hunger. Ninety percent of the rural population practice peasant agriculture. Farmers work together in small associations and common initiative groups to open local plantations. Produce is harvested and brought to the Community Farmers' Market (CFM) for sale, and ISEC also envisions food-processing factories for produce from the farms.
